A Masterclass in Costume Design with Stefania Vella

Last week on the 10th of March, the School of Art in Valletta hosted an inspiring Costume Design Masterclass led by renowned designer Stefania Vella. This session was part of Trab: The Rest is Dust, a project by MAVC (Mikiel Anton Vassalli College) that explores artistic expression and storytelling through visual and performing arts, culminating in an opera by Reuben Pace.

Participants had the opportunity to dive into the creative process of theatrical costume design, gaining insights into character development, fabric selection, and the transformative power of costume on stage. Stefania’s expertise and passion made for a truly enriching experience!

The College thank the costume designer Ms Stefania Vella and congratule the students who attended, contributed during this engaging masterclass.

We can’t wait to see the stunning costumes come to life as they are worn by all the performers on 25th and 26th April at St Agatha’s Auditorium, Rabat!
