Following training acquired through the Erasmus Digitech Methods Project, on the 14th and 15th of April, the staff at the Malta School of Art participated in a dynamic two-day hands-on session and workshop centred on implementing digital technology in their teaching practices as part of their professional development.
The first day focused on the use of the flipped classroom model, HyperDocs, and other digital tools applicable to teaching and learning. The second day specifically explored digital 2D artworks, renders, digital sculpture, and green screen techniques. During the session, Ms Leanne Lewis led an engaging exploration of platforms like HyperDocs, Europeana, and Adobe Express, demonstrating how these tools can facilitate and enrich art lesson plans. Ms Sephora Borg followed with a practical demonstration of green screen technology, where staff members collaboratively animated a short script and integrated it into a virtual backdrop as a video clip. Additional content covered Gamma and Pixabay. Mr Roderick Camilleri delivered a stimulating session showcasing diverse applications of a specific platform for digital 3d Organic Modelling. Teachers actively experimented with the tools, creating their own sculpted portraits in a digital format.
